I was told 11 years ago that I had a fatty liver. Never did anything about it because there wasn't a concern. December 2023 I decided to get things looked at because I was going to retire and not planning on insurance for a couple years before I hit Medicare eligibility. My doctor said I had to have my gallbladder removed. He wouldn't let me put it off. So that was done and he took a biopsy of my liver, by chance I guess because he didn't tell me he was going to do that. Came back as moderate scarring and Fibrosis and gave me a doom and gloom speech. He said it was beyond his expertise. My primary doctor said it wasn't good either and she is more treating the base cause and not meds. She ran labs and my liver enzymes continually keep rising and I now have really bad diabetes. Just 6 months prior my blood sugar was normal. My rheumatologist referred me to a specialist but I had to cancel due to no insurance. Anyone else having problems with liver enzymes continuing to rise? What are you doing to lower that?
