The NASH Itch

NASH is often referred to as a silent disease, meaning many people don't have any noticeable symptoms in the early stages. As NASH progresses, symptoms can pop up that interfere with everyday life, such as itching.

Do you experience itching as a NASH symptom? Have you found anything to relieve or soothe the itching? Share any tips or experiences with the community below.

  1. My husband has a problem with itching.

    1. has he found anything helpful in relieving the itch? It really can be so frustrating. I hope you both have been well. All my best, Julie (team member)

  2. i started taking Rezdiffra and I thought the itching was a side effect, I didn't know that the liver disease caused itching

    1. It's possible that the itching could be a side effect from liver disease, Rezdiffra, or both! If you haven't already, I would share your symptoms with your doctor so they are aware and can help you monitor for anything out of the ordinary. Just know you're not alone in experiencing itching! It's something that so many of our community members struggle with. -Alexa (team member)

  3. It usually starts in my private parts and then travels to my arms and legs, sometimes it is all over my entire body.

  4. itching under arm

    1. Thank you for reaching out. Talk with your doctor about getting a medication lotion to help with the itching.
For a more natural way, I personally have found that coconut oil has been the best for me. I get it at my local grocery store. You find it in the baking isle- I get the refined. I also, make sure that I am well covered in this or a non-perfume lotion after every shower/bath. I do not all my skin to become dry. Several applications throughout your day may be required.
I am no physician, only a liver patient like yourselves. I share based on personal experience. Talk with your doctor and see if this does not give any relief and see what they can do to help medication wise. Itching is no fun. I hope you find some relief.
      My best
