Have you had a liver biopsy? Was it uncomfortable, painful, or both? Was it not so bad?

I had a biopsy, after much discussion with my primary care physician, and the GI physician's office. Different diagnosis' but ended up with Mash diagnosis as the end result. The biopsy itself was a straightforward procedure. CT scan with site being located for the best placement, marked with a medical type "magic market", local anesthetic, then biopsy performed, gel foam inserted to stop any potential bleeding being done by ct. Dressing applied post procedure. No pain, just tenderness at site of biopsy. The waiting on results was an issue of timing on the hospital's part. I was told one thing about expected length of time for results, and another happened.

If you are having a biopsy the odds are pretty good that you are atleast close to needing a transplant. I've had mri ct and a fibro scans. Then came the biopsy. Waiting on results but I do have an idea what's coming

I have had fibroscans and MRI as well as CT scans but not a biopsy
My Mayo hepatologist prefers these tests over biopsy

My liver biopsy was not bad with just some discomfort. It was quick. Staying in recovery for an hour took longer than the procedure.
